When you place an order with us or establish an account for certain software downloads, PCTEL may collect personal information from you, including your name, company, address, e-mail address, phone numbers, and credit card information. PCTEL's primary purpose in collecting this type of personal information is to facilitate order processing and to enable us to contact you if a problem arises with your order. We may also collect personal information in other circumstances, including without limitation, when you complete surveys or other questionnaires, or send an e-mail to PCTEL. We use this type of personal information you provide to help us design and build better products. Participating in any of these activities is optional.
Our web server logs collect the domain names of visitors to our Web sites. This information is aggregated to measure the number of visits, average time spent on the PCTEL web site, pages viewed, and the like. This research is compiled and analyzed on an aggregated basis so as to prevent identification of personal information relating to any one individual. PCTEL uses this type of personal information to research our users' demographics, interests, and behavior based on the information provided to us when making a purchase, during a promotion, from surveys and from our server log files. Use of Cookies
PCTEL uses cookie technology in two very limited circumstances. When you purchase a product from PCTEL via our e-commerce system, we use a cookie to maintain session information while you are interacting with our e-commerce system; however, once you have completed or cancelled the e-commerce transaction, this cookie is deleted. If you request to hear a webcast of any investor relations conference call, we will use a cookie to retain a record of your preferred media player software for webcasts, and to remember your name, organization, and email address in order to automatically fill such information in the registration page for additional investor relations webcasts.
