Martin (Marty) H. Singer, Ph.D.

Chairman & CEO

Marty Singer At Nasdaq

Dr. Singer has served as PCTEL's Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board since October 2001 and has been on the company’s board since August 1999. Dr. Singer also served as President and Chief Executive Officer of SAFCO Technologies, a wireless communications company. Prior to SAFCO Technologies, Dr. Singer served as Vice President and General Manager of the wireless access business development division for Motorola, a communications equipment company. He also held senior management and technical positions at Tellabs, AT&T and Bell Labs.

Dr. Singer holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Michigan, and a Master of Arts degree and a Ph.D. in experimental psychology from Vanderbilt University. Dr. Singer has served as the Chairman and Co-Chair of TechAmerica’s Midwest Council (2004-2012) and as a member of the standing advisory group for the Public Company Accounting Oversight Board (2005-2007). Dr. Singer has eight (8) patents in telecommunications and is the author of several essays on the telecommunications industry and technology competitiveness and public policy. Dr. Singer was awarded the Martin Sandler Achievement Award by the American Israel Chamber of Commerce in 2007 and the Executive Leadership Award by TechAmerica in 2008. In 2011, Dr. Singer was appointed by Illinois Governor Quinn to serve on the Broadband Deployment Council and was previously appointed and served as a Commissioner on the Illinois' Economic Recovery Commission. He is also a member of IEEE, the Economic Club of Chicago (ECC), and the Licensing Executives Society (LES).

John Schoen

Senior Vice President & CFO

John was a 19 year Motorola veteran with broad experience in Intellectual Property licensing, management of international manufacturing operations, and traditional controller responsibilities. John served as controller of Motorola's fixed wireless division and helped managed its growth to a $250 million operation. He held the COO and CFO positions at SAFCO Technologies during its growth from a $18 to $42 million operation and managed the transition of SAFCO to Agilent Technology's ownership. John has served as PCTEL's COO and CFO since November, 2001 and successfully restructured the company's IT, inventory and forecasting processes while executing the company's transition to wireless. John is a CPA and began his career with Ernst & Young LLP. He received his BS in Accounting from DePaul University.

Jeff Miller

President, Connected Solutions

Jeff is currently responsible for all activities for PCTEL Connected Solutions. Jeff has performed a number of roles at PCTEL since November 2001. Most recently, Jeff was responsible for PCTEL's antenna business. Prior to that Jeff was responsible for PCTEL's global sales activities. Jeff has previously been responsible for PCTEL's business development and licensing programs as well as leading engineering and development activities. Jeff started his career at Motorola and spent 14 years at Motorola's Cellular Infrastructure Group in a number of technical and management roles. Jeff managed large software projects in the areas of cellular switching and network management systems. After leaving Motorola, Jeff ran a successful consulting practice concentrating on requirements development and implementation for Intelligent Networking solutions and large-scale Network Management applications. Jeff left his consulting career to lead SAFCO Technologies Test and Measurement group for three years before its acquisition by Agilent Technologies. Jeff earned his BS in Computer Science from University of Illinois.

Varda Goldman

Senior Vice President and General Counsel

Before joining PCTEL in 2002, Varda served as a vice president of legal services for Motorola's Commercial Government and Industrial Solutions Sector (CGISS). She also served as vice president and lead counsel for Motorola’s Cellular Infrastructure Group (CIG) during its growth from $500 million to $4.5 billion in revenue. Varda began her career at Motorola in 1977 supporting the automotive and electronics group. She received her undergraduate and law degrees at Northwestern University and DePaul University of Law, respectively.

Tony Kobrinetz

Vice President and COO, Connected Solutions

Before coming to PCTEL, Tony was most recently responsible for leading Motorola’s entrée into broadband wireless access with particular focus on the development of WiMAX products and services. Previously as the General Manager (and Business Founder) of the Canopy Business he successfully transitioned the wireless broadband technology incubator into a commercial business with product development, operations, sales and marketing. Tony also served as general manager for the Advanced Products Division that designed and manufactured the first digital infrastructure platform that Motorola produced for the Japanese cellular infrastructure market.

As a seasoned technology and business professional, Tony has devoted over 30 years to the shaping of mobile telephony, wireless local area networks, cellular telecommunications and Telematics. He has held executive-level positions in product development, supply chain and system implementation of innovative communications equipment. Other key accomplishments include the development of a private wireless data network in the United States as well as the pioneering of a wireless local area network at 18 GHz. Tony holds numerous patents in communication components and systems. He earned a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a Master of Business Administration from Loyola University in Chicago.

David Neumann

Vice President and General Manager, RF Solutions

David is currently responsible for PCTEL’s RF Solutions business, which includes the scanning receiver product lines and engineering services. Previously, as PCTEL’s Global Vice President of Sales, David expanded PCTEL’s scanner business in China, managed the engineering services business and added key OEM sales channels. Before joining PCTEL, David held several senior sales and marketing roles in the wireless test and measurement industry, including Vice President of Sales and Marketing at SAFCO Technologies, which was later acquired by Agilent Technologies. David has also served as Vice President of Sales and Marketing at X-TEL Communications, Inc., which was an OEM for PCTEL, and as Director of Market Development at Acterna, which was acquired by JDSU. David holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and a Master of Business Administration from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
