The uplink signal (from devices to the network) is commonly referred to as the most critical part of a radio network, including broadband networks (LTE, etc.) and public safety or private narrowband networks (P25, etc.). However, uplink testing is currently relatively uncommon. New methods for measuring and monitoring the uplink are crucial to the ultimate goal of optimizing radio performance in both in-building and outdoor environments.
