PCTEL collaborates with third-party experts and host organizations to offer in-person training related to public safety network testing and commissioning and installation of BDAs (Bi-Directional Amplifiers), DAS (Distributed Antenna Systems), and other in-building ERCES (Emergency Responder Communication Enhancement Systems).

Each event offers one or more of the following types of training.
PS Testing Intro (1-3 hours) – An introduction to key concepts related to testing and/or monitoring public safety communications networks and BDA/ERCES systems. Specific topics covered may vary.
PCTEL Public Safety Tester Certification – Hands-on training in the use of PCTEL’s Public Safety Testing Solution for grid-based in-building testing. You’ll learn how to use SeeHawk Touch software and PCTEL scanning receiver in concert with the SeeHawk Central automated workflow management platform. Please contact us for more information about online and in-person certification options, and to ensure you have the necessary up-to-date equipment and software licenses to complete the training. Limited loaner equipment may be available at some events.
BDA Testing (1 day) – This training covers topics related to BDA commissioning tests, with specific attention to the use of PCTEL’s automated BDA commissioning testing solution. You’ll learn how to plan, execute, and submit required results from BDA commissioning tests using SeeHawk Touch software and PCTEL scanning receiver in concert with the SeeHawk Central automated workflow management platform. May include hands-on training in the use of PCTEL equipment. This training only covers the testing aspect of BDA commissioning. We recommend that anyone commissioning a BDA complete BDA/DAS Training and acquire NICET and/or ETA certification. We do not currently offer certifications specifically related to BDA testing.
BDA/DAS Training (2-3 days) – Third-party ETA DAST and/or NICET Prep Level I and II certification-eligible training in the installation and commissioning of BDA/DAS systems. In some cases, the trainer may be able to complete your ETA certification. View the event details for more information.
